Eric Schmidt

Software engineer & technical founder. I design, build, and ship AI-powered products end to end — from architecture to production systems used by real people.

about

I own complex, multi-service products end to end — working independently through ambiguous problems and building systems that stay correct and reliable under real use.

As co-founder and technical lead of GospelFlow, I took a real-time voice AI platform from the ground up to ~600 users across multiple countries — owning product direction, full-stack engineering, AI infrastructure, billing, and cloud architecture.

My core stack is TypeScript, React/Next.js, Node.js, Python, and PostgreSQL, with hands-on integration work across OpenAI, Anthropic, Google AI, xAI, and ElevenLabs.

GospelFlow

Co-Founder & Software Engineer

Jun 2024 — Present

Beaumont, CA

  • Built and own most of a production SaaS platform end to end: Next.js + Node.js app, PostgreSQL (47 tables via Drizzle ORM), auth, payments, and cloud deployment.
  • Designed a realtime conversation system on OpenAI's Realtime API where the model self-assesses mid-conversation through tool calls and rewrites its own instructions to adapt live.
  • Orchestrated OpenAI, ElevenLabs, Anthropic, Gemini, and Grok into one system with per-provider error handling and fallbacks.
  • Built the full Stripe billing system: subscriptions, proration previews, mid-cycle upgrades/downgrades, one-time purchases, and a webhook handler as the source of truth for entitlements.
  • Cut cost and latency by moving realtime sessions to direct WebRTC with ephemeral tokens and adding prompt caching — removing ~$200/month in server and API costs.
  • Ran a 200-user pilot, then reshaped the product into a guided, workflow-driven experience; grew to ~600 registered users across multiple countries.

IMB (International Mission Board)

Software Engineering Intern

Sep 2023 — Jun 2024

Remote

  • Built an iOS Flutter app integrating OpenAI LLM, TTS, and STT models to simulate cross-cultural conversations.
  • Developed NLP pipelines and feedback systems; piloted with ~100 users via TestFlight and iterated directly with IMB leadership.

California Baptist University

Community Life Intern

Apr 2022 — May 2023

Riverside, CA

  • Built and maintained cbuwelcome.com, the university's onboarding site reaching thousands of incoming students across three entering classes.
  • Produced 20+ onboarding materials and managed logistics for NCAA Division I events supporting 10,000+ guests.
